Hi everybody, I figured I better post an update. We're not out of the woods yet. Baby Emma is home and doing GREAT, but her Mom is in the hospital. She was only home with Emma for a few days before she had to go back in. Emma is 18 days old now, and mom's still in the hospital!!!
Here's what happened... Emma was born c-section on Aug 21, on the 22nd she was taken to Mobile. Crystal (her mom, my daughter) got out of the hospital on the 24th and went straight to Mobile. On the 28th Crystal got to bring Emma home, thank God. On the 30th Crystal was on the couch all day and throwing up, so she went to the hospital. They kept her, this is September 8 and she's STILL THERE!!! It's been 9 days now. However, they say she might get to come home the 10th or 11th.
Here's what happened to Crystal... When she got in the hospital she was hurting real bad, and they said her uterous was infected. They started pumping her full of antibiotics, but each day she just got worse. Finally, they said her infection was gone, but she was worse than ever and they didn't know why. So they did exploritory surgery. They cut her from the top of her stomache to the bottom. Once in there they seen that her apendics had burst!!! The surgeon said it looked like somebody dropped a granade in there. It messed up her colon and digestive system, and I don't know what else.
I feel so sorry for her. She's so miserable. But things are getting a little better now. She's been up setting in a chair and walking around. It's very hard and slow, but she's getting there. They want her to be able to eat and go to the bathroom (#2), but she hasn't been able to do that.
I gotta get off of here. I'll be back soon as possible.
Wow.. how sad. I really feel for her! Hope shes makes a full recovery soon!
